I had the pleasure to try something for the first time last night. I had just completed a corporate event in Ft. Lauderdale and went to a local gym to workout. The gym had an indoor rock climbing wall. I decided why not, give it a try. Isn’t it interesting when we allow ourself to try something new what we experience. All types of things raced through my head, would I look like a fool, how hard could it be, I can do this, and so on. After being harnessed in I began the journey up the wall. What I loved about this was that it was both physically and mentally demanding. I had to think ahead where I was going to put my feet and hands. I needed to stay focused on what was in front of me, not on what was below me. I had to stay relaxed to move with ease; instead of being rigid and tight. Once I reached the top I felt engergized that I did it and then I thought, “now what?”. So often my clients will reach their goals and ask the same question. The goal is to move to the next wall and climb it.
