I love this question that is posed to me several times a week. Golfers are always looking for the magic pill to get quick results and rarely do the things day in and day out that lead to better play. My first question for those golfers is, “How are your practice habits?” Your practice habits will determine much of your performance. Most golfer only practice when they are in a slump or they have an important event to get ready for. To be consistent on the golf course requires one to be consistent off the golf course. This includes practice, stretching, and other ways to get better. These need to be implemented regularly to get the most out of them. Just doing a little every other day is better then cramming in two hours of practice the day before a round. The way to practice is to balance out fundamentals, work on weaknesses, stress short game, and practice to a target. These are the ways to becoming consistent. So instead of buying the new driver, start looking at how you prepare yourself through practice.
