I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time getting excited about the PGA Tour when Tiger is not playing. I am spoiled in this generation to get to watch possibly the best golfer of all time. When he is not competing there is a void. Phil’s great win at Colonial helps because of how Phil tends to win, with great recovery shots. I am ready for the US Open next week and maybe we can witness a tournament where the two best players can go head to head.

Many articles have been written in the magazines about what golf would be like today without Tiger and of course it is a ridiculous subject because we could spend our time talking about what could have been instead of focusing on what we have now. I love golf and I want to see golf grow to all. The next 5-7 years will be crucial to stay excited about the Tiger era and hope someone will create other storylines. With this short time without a competitive Tiger makes me realize how fragile of a game golf is and how too keep it strong beyond just one golfer. As a PGA member I have the responsibility to show people the great benefits of playing golf. Tiger is at the head of what has grown the game in the past 10 years to juniors, yet there is something missing in bringing the adult to the game.
